The introduction of Skåne's new digital healthcare system has been postponed indefinitely. It is based on the same platform as the heavily criticized Millennium electronic medical records system and is currently considered inadequate.

Tests in real healthcare environments have shown that certain steps take too long. Among other things, these are shortcomings related to medication management, which can increase the time required, the region writes in a press release.

"These and other areas for improvement need to be addressed for us to consider it sufficiently useful," says Harald Roos, medical program manager, in the press release.

The plan was to introduce it gradually starting in the fall, but it is now unclear when that will be.
