On Thursday morning, the military junta in Myanmar carried out a deadly airstrike on the city of Kyauktaw in the western part of the country.
Local rescue services reported three fighter jets dropped nine explosive devices over the city in the conflict-affected region on the border with Bangladesh.
The military junta in Myanmar is reported to have advanced its positions across the country and against ethnic armed factions since a military-arranged parliamentary election in January. Rakhine State is mainly controlled by the Arakan Army, an ethnic Rakhine separatist movement.
Civil war has been raging in the country since a military coup in 2021.
