At least 30 soldiers have been killed in an attack on a military facility in central Mali, near the border with Burkina Faso, on Monday.
The number of dead is feared to rise after the attack, which is believed to have been carried out by Islamists.
Earlier on Monday, another military facility was attacked in the city of Timbuktu in northern Mali. About ten people launched the attack, but were neutralized by the soldiers at the facility.
