The Swedish Armed Forces' Christmas tree flight with the TP 84 Hercules transport aircraft next week is canceled, reports Upsala Nya Tidning.

The reason is “prioritized military operations,” according to the Armed Forces.

"We were given other military tasks that have a higher priority and these transport flights are needed for something else. It's incredibly impressive to see them flying, but our operations and the military tasks come first," Therese Åkerstedt, head of communications at the Air Force, tells the newspaper.

She states that it is not about an exercise.

The flight was intended to cover several locations in southern Sweden as well as the Mälardalen region and Stockholm.
