The attack took place in Niger state and targeted the town of Dikera, said federal representative Jafaru Mohammed. According to reports, the militant group, which operates mainly in northeastern Nigeria and is believed to have links to the IS-S terrorist movement, attacked after Friday prayers.
Hundreds of members of the armed group Lakuwara attacked us with firearms, knives and swords, says Jibril Ahmad, who survived the attack.
They slaughtered our people. They said we did not adhere to the right religion.
State police say they are aware of the incident, but they do not have a death toll.
