Miley Cyrus took over the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Friday with her first major concert in years. The show got emotional when the star paid tribute to her godmother, country star Dolly Parton, who died on August 25 this year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cyrus burst into tears as she recalled sitting in the audience and watching Dolly Parton perform on the same stage. She then paid tribute to Parton’s musical legacy and performed a version of the smash hit "Jolene."
"Me and Dolly, we are forever. Nothing can ever separate us, and I will see her again," Cyrus said.
Country star Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80 after "a short battle with cancer."
