My dad was affected by cancer himself – fortunately, he's doing well today. Letting my hair fall is my way of showing that we stand together against cancer, says Mikkel Hansen to Danish TV 2.
In a video clip from the channel, it can be seen how the Dane shaves off his hair, and for the first time in a long time, the 37-year-old is without the hair that has long been associated with him.
The gesture is made in connection with the campaign "Krossa cancer", and the shaving is described as a strong symbol in this year's campaign.
Hansen ended his career after the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and was named the world's best player in 2011, 2015 and 2018.
