The band was formed in 1981 in Rhyl, Wales during the punk era and became known, among other things, for the hit song "Sixty eight guns".
Before that, Peters had formed the band The Toilets in 1977, after seeing Sex Pistols play.
Peters lived with blood cancer for 30 years, after being diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995. He also had chronic lymphatic leukemia and devoted a large part of his life to raising campaign funds for cancer care. He became 66 years old.
