Karlberg was an assistant coach at Färjestad last season and, before that, spent 27 years with Leksand - as a player and manager.
He already has ideas about how Modo will play in the next all-Swedish hockey season.
“The idea is to play closer together with the puck and to help each other more on the ice,” says Karlberg.
The contract is for three years.
