Mika Zibanejad was honored on his home ice at Madison Square Garden. Teammates arrived in long wigs, a nod to Zibanejad's mane, writes nhl.com. They also wore T-shirts that read "M1KA," referring to the 1,000 games he has now played.

Zibanejad's parents, wife and daughter were also present for the tribute. He is the 22nd Swedish player to reach the milestone.

Zibanejad played his 1,000th NHL game against Ottawa, the team he spent his first five seasons with. He is now in his tenth season with the Rangers.

Ottawa won 2–1, and the Rangers have now lost five straight.
