The information comes from the UN: migration agency IOM, which states that over 60 passengers on the boat have been rescued.
"Among the survivors are 29 men from Sudan, one woman and one child (from Sudan), 18 men from Bangladesh and three from Somalia", IOM writes.
No information about those who are believed to have drowned has been announced.
The boat's destination is believed to have been a port in a European country.
