Software giant Microsoft will invest $17.5 billion, equivalent to just under SEK 165 billion, in artificial intelligence and cloud services in India.

The company's CEO Satya Nadella said after a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the investment will run over four years.

During the meeting, the two are said to have discussed India's roadmap for AI and growth priorities.

"To support the country's ambitions, Microsoft is committing $17.5 billion—our largest ever investment in Asia—to help build the infrastructure, skills, and superior capabilities needed for India's AI-first future," Nadella said in a post on X.
