The US is allowing Microsoft to ship the latest Nvidia chips to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time, the Financial Times reports.

The American company plans to increase its investments in AI and cloud infrastructure in the country.

“We earned it by meeting very stringent cybersecurity, physical security and other security requirements,” Microsoft Chairman Brad Smith told the newspaper.

Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump and United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed agreed to build AI data centers in Abu Dhabi.
