The 30-year-old forward has been given a more obscure role in Färjestad in recent years when more and more offensive stars have been picked up.

Last season, Lindqvist accounted for eight goals and 22 points in 45 matches. On Monday morning, the news came from Färjestad that the parties were going their separate ways, and in the afternoon, Lindqvist was presented as a new acquisition by Leksand.

The former AIK player has signed a two-year contract with the economically hard-pressed club.

"Very fun that we get a player as experienced and seasoned as Michael Lindqvist. In 'Linkan', we get an offensive threat both in five-on-five and power play", says sports manager Thomas Johansson in a press release.
