Lightning and thunder delayed the round of 16 match between Mexico and Ecuador at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City for an hour. But once on the field, nothing could stop Mexico.
The first goal of the match came from the hosts in the 22nd minute through Julian Quinones. Nine minutes later he struck again, setting up Raul Jimenez for the 2-0 goal.
There were no more goals than that - for either team - and the Mexicans were once again forced to take to the streets to celebrate.
In the round of 16, Mexico will face the winner of England and Congo-Kinshasa.
