At least 37 people have died in Mexico as a result of the downpour, according to local authorities.
Large parts of the country have been hit by heavy rain and flooding this week. In the state of Hidalgo, at least 22 people have died and 1,000 homes have been flooded. In addition, a large number of schools, hospitals and roads have been damaged by the rain.
Other states have also been severely affected by the downpours, including San Luis Potosí and Veracruz.
