At least 23 people have died in Mexico as a result of the downpour, according to local authorities.
Large parts of the country have been affected by heavy rain and flooding this week. In the state of Hidalgo, 16 people have died and 1,000 homes have been flooded. In addition, a large number of schools, hospitals and roads have been damaged by the rain.
Other states have also been severely affected by the downpour, including San Luis Potosí and Veracruz.
