Over the weekend, both firefighters and other personnel from neighboring countries arrived.

"Firefighters from Mexico have just arrived at LAX. They will join the over 14,000 who are already fighting the Palisades fire", writes California Governor Gavin Newsom on X.

In addition to personnel, Canada is sending two aircraft that can assist in dumping water and fire retardants over the fires.

"California has always helped us when we fight fires in the north. Now Canada gets to help you", writes Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a post on X.

At least 16 people have so far been confirmed dead in the fires in the Los Angeles area, which are far from under control and continue to spread.
