Ingrid Alexandra was seen at Sydney Airport on Tuesday and landed at Oslo Airport Gardermoen on Wednesday morning.
Her father, Crown Prince Haakon, said earlier this week that the princess will go home to spend time with Mette-Marit, who is seriously ill with pulmonary fibrosis.
Haakon himself, however, is on a trip this week to Japan. According to the plan, Ingrid Alexandra is to return to Australia later.
In the line of succession to the Norwegian throne, Haakon is first after King Harald, followed by Ingrid Alexandra. Third is her younger brother Sverre Magnus.
