Mette Frederiksen invites seven parties, Venstre skeptical

"With the policies the Social Democrats were elected on, we find it difficult to see that we would have so much to talk about," says Venstre's vice-chair Stephanie Lose, former Minister of Finance, to Danmarks Radio.

Denmark's outgoing Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who has been given the first opportunity to explore forming a new government after the election, has announced that she wants to form a government that stretches from left to center.

The Social Democrats' leaders have therefore invited the Socialist People's Party, the Unity List, the Radical Left, the Alternative, the Moderates, the Left and the Conservative People's Party to negotiations on Friday.
