The stoppage occurred at 3:44 p.m. local time in Sweden and affects trading in, among other things, aluminum, copper and zinc. There is no information yet on the cause of the interruption.
"We are aware of an issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible," a spokesperson for the exchange wrote in an email to Bloomberg.
According to the news agency, a technical error is likely behind the outage.
The disruption comes during a volatile time for metals as the war in Iran disrupts the flows of industrial metals, including aluminum and zinc, and makes both short- and long-term price developments more uncertain.
