60,000 Metallica fans literally made the earth shake. But the "Metallica earthquake" was not strong enough to reach the Richter scale, writes Billboard.

When the band played "Enter Sandman" on May 7 at Lane Stadium in Blackburg, USA, researchers at Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory could detect seismic activity.

"Metallica saved 'Enter Sandman' for the last song of the evening. It was no disappointment, it shook Lane Stadium so hard that it was registered on Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory's seismograph", the observatory writes on its website.

But the "Metallica quake" caused no danger to the public – and did not reach the Richter scale.

The magnitude would have been less than 1.0, says Martin Chapman, researcher at the observatory.
