Earlier this week, Meta launched an AI-generated image tool. One of the tool's features would allow it to generate images from public Instagram accounts.
But it was met with sharp criticism because account holders were not informed when the feature was activated and were also not informed when their images were used.
Now Meta has backed down after the criticism and has removed the feature from the AI tool.
