Meta's AI service has now been launched in Europe, the company announces on its website. Meta AI was launched in the US as early as 2023, but, according to Meta, has been delayed in Europe due to the EU's stricter rules on AI and a fragmented regulatory framework to comply with outside the EU's framework.
In Europe, Meta AI will not have image generation, unlike the version available in the USA. The service primarily competes with Chat GPT. In recent times, several so-called smart assistants or bots have been launched, not least from China.
