Streep played opposite Redford in ”My Africa” (1985). A romantic epic that took place in colonial Kenya and which won seven Oscars. Streep also participated in the Redford-directed ”Lions and Lambs” (2007).
Also Jane Fonda mourned her colleague in both film and activism on Tuesday.

Jane Fonda and Robert Redford played together in five films: ”Girls like tall guys” (1960), ”The devilish hunt” (1966), ”Barefoot in the park” (1967), ”The self-luminous rider” (1979) and ”Our souls at night" (2017).
Also the Swedish actress Lena Olin praises Redford, whom she played opposite in ”Havana” (1990).
”He was a fantastic person and he was also incredibly funny and generous as a fellow player, and was very interested in directing”, says Lena Olin in a written comment to TT.
"When we played together he was curious and often put himself in the director's position, and he showed an enormous eagerness to get out of mainstream and find new opportunities”.
