The German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz's Swedish CEO Ola Källenius is now entering the trade war between the USA and the EU. In an interview with the German Handelsblatt, he suggests a radical change:
Let's adjust the tariffs down to zero from both sides. It would mean growth instead, he says.
President Donald Trump has threatened to introduce 25-percent tariffs against the EU from April 2. Mercedes-Benz, which has significant exports to the American car market, is seen as one of the losers if this becomes a reality, just like several other major car manufacturers.
