Dutchman Memphis Depay is now without a club after Corinthians chose not to extend the 32-year-old's contract.
"Very disappointed to read that Corinthians chose not to honor our agreement to extend my contract. The extension was explicitly agreed. However, some people chose to violate it...", Depay writes and continues:
"I have respected the club throughout the process, but now I am forced to react forcefully to protect my own interests."
Depay was part of the Netherlands' World Cup squad, including playing time in the 5-1 win over Sweden. He has previously played for clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
