"I guess I should start by apologizing for my choice of words in interviews and my actions after the European Championship qualifiers today. It has been a tough and difficult season and my temper slipped over the line today. That said, it is hardly an excuse for anything I did today," he writes.

After qualifying on Tuesday morning, Lycke Holm said, for example:

It feels so fucking tough, ugly and dirty and everything that's bad in the world at the same time.

The Swede notes that he finished in 14th place in qualifying, but that 2.19 would have been enough for the final if he had had fewer failed attempts.

"It's not good but it's something. The season is almost over so now it's just a matter of trying to recharge for some kind of finish before it's time to start working again," he writes.
