Greta Thunberg and the others who are on board the boats in the fleet approaching Gaza should interrupt their journey. This is written by Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a post on X.

Meloni, who leads the far-right party Brothers of Italy, claims that the initiative may risk extinguishing the "hope" of an end to the war in Gaza, which she believes was ignited as a result of the US peace plan:

"For this reason, I also believe that the fleet should end now and accept one of the proposals that have been made for the safe delivery of aid".

Italy has, together with Spain, sent warships to protect the convoy.

The fleet, which consists of about 50 boats, is located late on Monday evening in the vicinity of the area where the two previous boats to Gaza were boarded by Israeli military.
