Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni states that Pope Leo XIV has confirmed to her that the Vatican can host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Meloni spoke with the Pope on Tuesday and noted "the Holy Father's willingness to host upcoming discussions between the parties in the Vatican", according to a statement from the Prime Minister's office.
Meloni then spoke with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj and several other world leaders.
