After the premiere, there will be heats on February 7 in Gothenburg, February 14 in Kristianstad, February 21 in Malmö and February 28 in Sundsvall before the final at Strawberry arena in Solna outside Stockholm, on March 7, writes the organizer Live Nation in a press release.
The interest in participating is greater than ever. Never before have so many contributions been submitted to the competition. This year's figure beats the record from 2011 when 3,832 contributions were received for the competition.
SVT will later announce which 30 artists will be participating in next year's competition. The names of the program hosts also remain to be revealed.
The winner of Melodifestivalen will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna on May 12-16.
