A statue of the USA's First Lady Melania Trump has been stolen in her Slovenian hometown Sevnica.
The statue, which is life-size, was placed on a pedestal on a hill, but by Thursday, someone had cut it off at the ankles.
The statue is made of bronze and a copy of an earlier wooden statue of Melania Trump that was set on fire in 2019. It has, however, never been particularly appreciated by the locals, according to the Slovenian state news agency STA.
The reactions from local media, residents, and other Slovenians were extremely negative. No one was proud of such an interpretation of the USA's First Lady, says a municipal representative according to STA.
