David Wiberg and Hanna Alström take over the roles of father Rudolf and mother Karin, respectively, while Elis Guldevall becomes the new Sune.
The new film, which does not yet have a title, is currently being filmed outside Gothenburg and is scheduled for a theatrical release next summer. In the film, Sune hopes to save the family's finances after a water leak by entering a singing competition.

It has been five years since the last Sune film, “Midsummer Mission.” In the meantime, there have been two Håkan Bråkan films in the same “Sune universe” and two seasons of the TV series “Familjen Andersson” on SVT.
