It is unclear how many students have been affected. Solvik School principal Elin Wanselius does not want to say anything about the health status of the infected students or what measures the school is taking, but tells LT that the school is still open.
Järna, south of Södertälje, is the centre of the anthroposophical movement in Scandinavia, which is sceptical of vaccinations. The community has suffered outbreaks of both rubella and measles over the years.
A total of 24 cases from nine regions have now been reported in the ongoing measles outbreak. Most of those infected are unvaccinated children under 18.
A case has also been confirmed in Åland, reports Ålands Radio . The case is also linked to the Urkult festival.
