The case was discovered on August 3. The patient, who came to the paediatric emergency department, is said to have been infected abroad.
Infection tracing is ongoing.
"Everyone who has been in the premises during the period that the patient has been here has been contacted and received information and vaccination if necessary. The vast majority of people in Sweden have very good protection against the measles virus," says Annelie Liljegren, chief physician at Södersjukhuset, in a written statement.
Currently, there is no risk of contracting the measles virus when visiting Södersjukhuset, according to Annelie Liljegren.
Measles is a highly contagious disease that can cause serious illness. The disease is uncommon in Sweden, as it is included in the vaccination programme for children.
