Infection tracing is ongoing.
"We can confirm a case of measles in the Stockholm Region. Infection tracing is ongoing, according to our procedures. All those affected have been informed," the region writes in an email to the newspaper.
Measles is a highly contagious disease that can cause serious illness. In infants, the mortality rate can be high. The disease is uncommon in Sweden, as it is included in the vaccination program for children.
According to statistics from the Public Health Agency of Sweden, earlier this year two cases of measles were confirmed in Östergötland and one case in Västra Götaland.
