The French football star Kylian Mbappé can return to the pitch – and play his first match in the World Championship for club teams in the USA – on Tuesday. This is stated by Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso.
Mbappé missed Real's three group stage matches due to stomach and intestinal problems that required hospital care at the end of June. But when Real face Juventus in the round of 16 on Tuesday, there is a "great chance" that the striker will get to play.
I do not know how big, but a great chance, says Xabi Alonso about the possibility.
A Mbappé comeback would mean a bit of star power to the tournament which suffered a hard blow on that front when Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami were eliminated in the first round by Paris Saint-German.
