Mbappé becomes World Cup's all-time leading scorer after brace in France's loss to England

Despite losing to England in the bronze medal match at the World Cup, France star striker Kylian Mbappé was able to score two goals and write himself into the history books. "I would have preferred not to be the top scorer and instead play tomorrow's match," Mbappé said, according to AFP.

Mbappé scored two goals as France lost the crazy bronze medal match against England 4–6.

The two goals mean he is the World Cup's all-time leading scorer with 22 goals. Lionel Messi has scored 21.

Mbappé scored four goals at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, eight goals four years later in Qatar and now a whopping ten goals. The ten goals also mean that he is the top scorer in this tournament.

Lionel Messi trails behind with eight goals and still has the World Cup final against Spain on Sunday to play.
