Mbappé scored the only goal of the match in the 54th minute, but immediately after the shot he collapsed and had to sit down on the pitch. He was unable to continue playing and, according to the French Federation, he sustained an injury to his left knee.
He is now returning to Madrid for treatment and is not expected to participate in France's next three matches in the Nations League.
The victory against Turkey was France's first match under Zinedine Zidane as national team captain. Next up is Belgium away on Monday.
