The success of Taylor Swift's new album means that Max Martin reaches a new milestone in the USA. The song "The fate of Ophelia" is the Swedish star producer's 28th number one on Billboard's singles list.

Taylor Swift completely takes over the charts in the USA after the release of the album ”The life of a showgirl”. The songs from the record take the first twelve places on Billboard's singles list this week, writes the newsletter Musikindustrin.

For Max Martin, it means a new chart-topper, the latest in a long series that began with ”... Baby one more time" and Britney Spears in 1999. Max Martin has produced and written the songs on Taylor Swift's new album together with Swedish producer Shellback and the artist herself.

Thus, Max Martin is one step closer to the songwriter who has had the most number ones in the USA. Paul McCartney is behind 32 songs that have reached first place in the USA, with the Beatles, Wings, and as a solo artist.
