Mattias Andersson has received an extended appointment as theatre director of Dramaten - until 2030.

Mattias Andersson became theatre director of the national theatre on March 1, 2020 and has now had his appointment extended by the board of Dramaten.

"Mattias Andersson has shown that he can take both artistic risks and financial responsibility," says Dramaten's chairman Raoul Grünthal in a press release.

Mattias Andersson's term of office was due to run until 2027 but will be extended early by three years. Since 2020, Dramaten has had a shared leadership with a CEO and a theatre director, who is the artistic director. The CEO position has been held by Kitte Wagner since 2023.
