It was no ordinary acting job, he tells NTB.

The film ship Dragon Harald Fairhair, a reconstruction of an old Viking ship, was rebuilt into an ancient Greek ship, says Damon, who plays Odysseus.

The filming was done long before Norwegian football fans started their "ro, ro" chants, but that's exactly what the actors learned.

All the actors who were part of the crew had to learn to row and went to rowing camps, says Matt Damon, who describes the filming as "a unique experience."

Ahead of the film premiere, Dragon Harald Fairhair has now anchored in Oslo.
