Matt Damon learned to row for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on Norwegian ship set

The film ship Dragon Harald Fairhair, a reconstruction of an old Viking ship, was rebuilt into an ancient Greek ship, says Damon, who plays Odysseus.

The recordings were made long before the Norwegian football fans started their "ro, ro" chants, but that is exactly what the actors learned.

All the actors who were part of the crew had to learn to row and went to rowing camps, says Matt Damon, who describes the filming as "a unique experience."

Ahead of the film premiere, Dragon Harald Fairhair has now anchored in Oslo.
