"Since we will have fewer cross-country skiing broadcasts, the total number of opportunities for our cross-country skiing experts will decrease," SVT Sports event manager Marcus Törngren tells the channel’s website.

Fredriksson has been part of "Vinterstudion" since 2013.

"Getting to work with all the fantastic people involved in Vinterstudion. They are the best in their field, but are always happy to have a tan. That’s probably why we’ve been there for 13 years," says Fredriksson.

The 53-year-old is a former national team skier who has, among other achievements, won the overall World Cup and four championship medals.

Törngren says Anders Blomquist - best known as commentator Jacob Hård’s partner - will appear more often as an expert. Anna Haag will also be a guest expert.

"Winter Studio" premieres for the season on November 14.
