On Wednesday, Norwegian police carried out house searches at several addresses and arrested seven people, one of whom was remanded in custody. The people are suspected of corruption and fraud linked to betting on football matches.
According to information provided to VG, football players and others connected to Norway's top flight are among those arrested.
NRK reports that several of those arrested are players in the Norwegian top league, Eliteserien, and on Friday evening, KFUM Oslo's club manager Thor-Erik Stenberg confirmed to Norwegian TV 2 that two of those arrested play for the club.
"This is obviously something we take very seriously. We do not have sufficient insight to comment in detail on what the case is about," says Stenberg.
