Eighth men were arrested in connection with the raid made in the province of Rayong on Saturday, according to the authorities. A total of 2.6 tons of methamphetamine was seized, packaged in one-kilo plastic bags that appeared to contain corn flour. A van and a truck were also seized.
If the methamphetamine had been sold on the street, it is estimated to have generated over three billion baht, around 900 million kronor.
Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra comments on the effort by saying that the country's government is "serious about its drug policy".
