Massive Attack criticizes Singapore deportation after Palestinian flag incident

On Instagram, they wrote that they were both "surprised and disappointed that the entire band was taken into custody by the police" after the concert on July 29, reports the BBC.

The intervention came after two members unfurled a Palestinian flag on stage, which the country's police authority said violated strict laws prohibiting the public display of foreign flags or national symbols.

The British trip-hop collective has long criticised Israel's war in Gaza. In April, frontman Robert Del Naja was arrested during a demonstration in London, and the band has also called for a music boycott of Israel.
