On the Thai side, more than 400,000 people have been evacuated due to an “imminent threat to their safety,” according to the Defense Ministry. In Cambodia, more than 101,000 people have been evacuated.
Both sides accuse each other of starting the latest wave of attacks.
The countries have clashed on several occasions during the year, and in November an “extended ceasefire” was put on hold.
