According to the police, a truck has overturned and is blocking traffic. The road is closed in both directions. At least three people have been taken to hospital by ambulance, SOS told Aftonbladet.
Traffic is being diverted onto the much narrower road 583.
- It doesn't handle as much traffic, so it's clear that it takes longer, says Katarina Wolffram, press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.
The Swedish Transport Administration initially expected to be able to open the road by 1:30 p.m. The forecast has now been pushed back to 9 p.m.
The police have filed a report of negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm.
