Several of Gjert Ingebrigtsen's children (running stars Jakob and Filip Ingebrigtsen, as well as his daughter who has requested anonymity) have testified during the trial against their father that there was violence in the home during their upbringing.
The 59-year-old is charged with assault and abuse against Jakob and his daughter.
However, their brother, Martin Askeland Ingebrigtsen, has a completely different picture of their upbringing.
I have very many fine memories from childhood. I grew up in a safe and good home, he says when testifying in the trial against his father on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old also tells that when he decided to quit athletics in his teenage years, it went smoothly.
We discussed it a bit, but I came to the conclusion that I wanted to quit, then I quit. It was no more than that.
This despite the siblings claiming that their father was controlling and manipulative.
Those were probably a bit too strong words. He wanted me to continue to reach my full potential. I could have become very good.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen denies all allegations.
