Time to rejoice, all you lovers of British police series - “Line of Duty” is coming back. This was confirmed to TT by lead actor Martin Compston.

- We are filming season seven now in the spring, and it will be incredibly fun to work with everyone again. The series has given us all new opportunities - and it feels like the right time to make a new season.

The British actor says he has read the script for the first three episodes, but he obviously can't reveal anything.

But don't worry, it's fine. Jed Mercurio can write.

"The Art of Revenge"

While viewers wait for the corruption investigators in DC12 to return, they can watch Compston on SVT Play in the series "The Art of Revenge on an Ex". He plays Callum, who has gone through a divorce and whose ex tries to prevent him from spending time with their daughter. He joins a discussion group for people who have gone through divorce - which leads them to start planning how best to get revenge on their exes. It starts humorously but gets darker.

That was not the least of what attracted me. You can't say that it belongs to a specific genre. And there are scenes in it that are funny on the surface, but which, if you look at them more closely, are heartbreaking.

Finding something like this is hard. I've done very tough thrillers before; I've never been offered something like this. I immediately felt it could be something special.

Revenge "is natural"

"The desire for revenge is something natural," says Martin Compston.

It's human. You have the guy who bullied you at school, you have the person who ran into your car. We want revenge. But for most people it is and remains a fantasy. In the series, you move past that; it grows and grows.

In this divorce group, revenge suddenly becomes the important thing; it becomes the very motivation for them to meet. My character has some reservations. All he wants is to be part of his daughter's life. Everyone can relate to that. And he sees how it starts to get out of hand.

Compston began his career in films, but successes like "Line of Duty" have led to a string of TV roles. He'd like to do more films.

It seems like there's only room for big-budget or small-budget films. A friend and I are working on a few projects that we'll tackle when we have time.
