Around ten ships have been affected by the action, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
It doesn't feel "fit for duty". The verdict raises so many questions of principle that one is unsure whether one can continue with what one is doing, says Ulf Eriksson, head of the Marstrand pilot area, to GP.
A mother and her daughter died in the accident in July, when a pleasure boat was hit by a cargo ship.
On Wednesday, both the captain and the pilot on board were sentenced to suspended sentences for negligence in maritime traffic, causing death and causing bodily harm.
This has sparked strong reactions from, among others, the Swedish Pilots' Association.
"This will cause ripples in the water. All of Europe is following this. It is a new interpretation of how it has worked," said the association's chairman Ronny Löf to TT after the verdict.
